The Christmas market in Salzburg has been a long tradition, dating back to the 15th century. Salzburg is especially beautiful at this time of year, with its magnificent cathedral and the castle as a backdrop creating a dreamlike scene, plus the sweet spicy smell of mulled wine and gingerbread perfuming the air. There is no better place for getting you into the spirit of Christmas, and around 1 million people visit the Chritstkindlmarktes of Salzburg every year!
